The short version

How people sign up

A crew member signs in to LawnClock at lawnclock.com/app with their own account, opens Settings, and finds the Text messages card. They type their cell number, tick the box (it always starts unticked) and click Save. It looks like this:

Text messages

Optional. We can text you when there's an urgent job for you, or when your phone stops logging your time.

(716) 555-0123
I agree to get automated text messages from LawnClock (CostingPlus.com Inc.) at this number: when automatic logging is off on my phone during my work hours, and when my employer posts an urgent job for me, like snow removal. Message frequency varies: up to 2 reminders a day, plus urgent job alerts. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Consent is not required to use LawnClock.

The Text messages card in Settings, as a crew member sees it before signing up. Save stays off until the box is ticked.

The business they work for can't sign them up, and an owner or office admin can't tick the box for them. We keep a record of each sign-up: who, which number, the exact wording they agreed to, and when.

Right after signing up they get this confirmation:

LawnClock: You're signed up for texts about urgent jobs and when automatic logging is off. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel.

What we send

Urgent job alerts. When the business they work for posts an urgent job and picks them for it (for example, plowing a lot after a storm), and when that job is taken, called off or open again:

LawnClock: Urgent job: Snow removal at Main St Plaza, 12 Main St. First to accept gets it. Open the app to accept. Reply STOP to opt out.

LawnClock: Snow removal at Main St Plaza is taken by Mike R. No need to go.

LawnClock: Snow removal at Main St Plaza was called off. No need to go.

LawnClock: Still needed: Snow removal at Main St Plaza, 12 Main St. Open the app to accept. Reply STOP to opt out.

Logging reminders. When the phone app reports that automatic logging is off during the crew member's work hours and the app's own alert couldn't reach them:

LawnClock: automatic logging is off on your phone. Open the app and turn it back on so your hours at job sites count. Reply STOP to stop these texts.

Crew members who chose Spanish get the same messages in Spanish. We never send marketing or advertising by text, and texts never contain links.

Stopping texts and getting help

The STOP, START and HELP replies name both of our crew apps, LawnClock and CurbClock, because they share one number. Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your number and your privacy

We use your cell number only to send the messages above. Mobile information, including phone numbers and text message consent, is never shared or sold to third parties, affiliates or lead generators for marketing or promotional purposes. Texts are delivered by our messaging provider, Twilio, only to send them. See the Privacy Policy and the Terms.
